Panhellenic Forensics Tournament 2013

The Panhellenic Forensics Tournament was held this year at Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, from the 4th to the 7th of April. Twenty schools and more than 300 students participated in the Tournament.
HAEF won the Debate Cup and got the second place in the Sweepstakes with 5 finalists. We had 40 students participating in the competition. All 40 students worked very hard, displaying a high level of sportsmanship and teamwork, and results should be accredited to all members of our Team.

The finalists in the Sweepstakes category are the following:

All three of our debate teams performed really well, with younger speakers who were attending their first PFA Tournament showing excellent promise for the future. Following the preliminary rounds, our B and C teams ranked: 10th (Zoe Aliprantis, Theodore Dounias, Amalia Kostopoulou) and 14th (Iris Frangou, Alex Athanasopoulos, Vasilis Oikonomou). All teams ranked in the top third of the competition.

All members of the B and C teams attended the Panhellenic Tournament for the first time, and managed to win 3 out of 5 debates - missing the quarterfinals only by a few speaker points.

Krysianna Papadaki was ranked 3rd on the individual speaker tab, and Andreas Athanasopoulos ranked 10th. All speakers ranked in the top half of the competition.

This success would, of course, have never been possible without the tremendous assistance and unwavering support of the coaches and teachers, who worked during school hours, after school hours, weekends and holidays! Thank you all!
