Jeff Wachtel
Jeff Wachtel holds a Bachelor’s in Urban Studies and Psychology from Stanford, a Master’s in City Planning from The University of California-Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. He is the first
executive director of Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University. He
served as senior assistant to Stanford’s President John Hennessy from 2000-2016.
In this role, he provided advice and counsel to President Hennessy and
represented the President’s Office to individuals and organizations within and
outside the university. In 2017, he received the Kenneth M.
Cuthbertson Award, which recognizes exceptional service to Stanford
University. He has maintained his connection with Athens College
since he was a High School exchange student on campus, an experience that
deepened his appreciation of Greece and international exchange.
