French Language Department

By having students participate in an array of activities, such as French student publications, French literature appreciation days, the French Culture Club, the French bistro at the School’s Christmas Bazaar, and trips to France, we aspire to engender in them a love of the French language and culture.  We help them to develop skills that enable them to cope in a French-speaking environment as global citizens.

French is taught as a second foreign language from Elementary through High School.  Department faculty members apply contemporary, student-centered teaching methods, following the Greek Ministry of Education curriculum, the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the framework of the International Baccalaureate Programmes. Teachers also attend training seminars, conferences and events in France.
