Restructuring of Athens College and Psychico College High Schools

Restructuring of Athens College and Psychico College High Schools

Sep 20, 2024

Our School, responding to the individual needs of its students and the demands of our times, decided to proceed with the organizational restructuring of Athens College and Psychico College High Schools by creating two distinct educational paths.

The implementation of the reorganization of the two High Schools will be gradual and will be completed in school year 2027-2028.

- The Athens College High School will exclusively offer the Greek Curriculum in all three grades of the High School, while the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of Athens College will be completed in Junior High School 3 (3rd Gymnasium).

- Psychico College High School will continue to offer the Greek Curriculum in the High School 1, maintaining the MYP, as a full-continuum IB World School, and emphasizing on preparation for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). Upon completion of the organizational restructuring, Psychico College will offer exclusively the IB DP in the last two grades of High School.

Consequently, at the end of Junior High School 3, students will be asked to choose the educational path they will follow.

It should be noted that both schools will continue to enrich their academic program through the Primary Years Programme (PYP) at Elementary School and MYP at Junior High School and to emphasize skills development and English language reinforcement at all school levels. It is worth mentioning that the Founding Law of Athens College, whose validity was extended to Psychico College this year, provides many opportunities for further development of the School's academic programs.

Through systematic information and guidance, the Junior High and High School administrations will support your children to choose the most suitable curriculum for them at the end of Junior High School 3 (3rd Gymnasium).

It is clarified that students will be able to change their study program after the end of High School 1 and that tuition fees for High School 1 of both schools will not change.

Detailed information for parents on the program of High School 1 for both schools will be provided in early December.
