1st Sixth Grade PYP Interdisciplinary Project: How does it work?

Jan 28, 2021

As part of their first PYP interdisiciplinay project, Psychico Collge Elementary School 6th grade students addressed the topic: “Human discoveries and inventions affect our life,” under the title “An idea, a little luck, courage and a lot of work make a difference.” After conducting research on the topic, students drew their own inventions with help from their Creative Activities teachers. Lastly, working in pairs, students “joined” their drawings and imagined that they were “solving” a global problem, such as unemployment, racism, pollution, etc. They selected a renewable energy source that would “work” and wrote a user manual for it. Through this project not only did the knowledge they gained from their research emerge, but also the students’ skills, their profiles, and the life stances they cultivated. Plainly, our children thought deeply, imagined and created outstanding results!
