Within the framework of the 2nd Interdisciplinary Unit of Inquiry titled “Once Upon a Time There Was a Man,” Athens College Elementary School 3rd grade students worked on the central idea: “From prehistoric times to today, men live in organized societies and form different cultures.” 

In particular, the students:

• investigated the basic characteristics of a culture, the daily life of prehistoric people, the way the first societies were organized.
• sought knowledge through multiple sources.
• collaborated  to compose their “own” prehistoric dwellings, taking into account and utilizing everything they learned from the interdisciplinary unit of inquiry.
