On Thursday, November 4, Athens College Elementary School followed in the footsteps of Pheidippides, the messenger that brought the news of the Athenian victory in the battle of Marathon.

Students from all classes participated in the Marathon race re-enactment, abiding by all health and safety measures. Students from the higher sections took on the role of the athletes, from the middle sections the role of volunteers and the lower sections that of spectators. They created a celebration with runner-messengers and music, under the moto “Support the College Marathon” and “Stay Safe, Run to Enjoy!”

Our students enjoyed greatly this event, and sent a strong message of support by contributing to the College’s Financial Aid Program.
