Authentic Marathon Re-enactment for Psychico College Elementary Students
On the occasion of the 40th Authentic Athens Marathon, the Psychico College Elementary Physical Education Department organized a sports week with presentations and interactive activities per department dedicated to the Marathon race taking place on November 8. All students and teachers participated in the event with great enthusiasm.
The well-known marathon runner Deniz Dimaki spoke to the students about her favorite sport and led Grade 5 and 6 students participating in the re-enactment race to the route, accompanied by music, applauses and cheering.
The slogan of the event was: "I RUN - I CARE - I OFFER"
Before the race kicked off, a torch relay with two special handmade torches held by students of the UNESCO Club took place, delivering the message of climate change “Running out of time” to all who attended.
Grade 3 and 4 students were responsible for supplying water and keeping the venue clean.
Grade 2 students were responsible for directing the runners and also for supporting them by cheering for them along the route.
Grade 1 students encouraged the runners with their drawings, theirs cheers and applauses.
With music, dancing and colorful balloons flying in the air, the re-enactment was completed, with everyone pledging to help the Scholarship Fund in its difficult work!
