Τhe Athens College Elementary School percussion band "Drumsticks" was created for the first time in 2015.

Every year since then, the band has been taking part in various events of our school life and student community such as the Christmas Bazaar, the Athanassiadeia track and field meets, the March 25 and October 28 student parades and many other Interschool Celebrations.

This year, the Drumsticks Percussion Band, whilst having the largest participation in all its years of operation with 33 students in total, realized a dream it had since its inception. It managed to create a core of encouragement for the Marathon Race athletes, and stood at the hardest part of their route, the point where they are running uphill only 3 kilometers from the finish line, and their fatigue is immense. Thus, together with all those present, students and parents, with the guidance of Music teacher Ms. Despina Bogdani-Soyoul and the presence of Deputy Director Ms. Kamperi, they became strong links united with each other, creating a chain of strength, a chain of victory for all athletes of all nationalities, carrying a message of will, strength, solidarity around the world.

It is worth mentioning particularly the message of love sent to us by a blind marathon runner who participated in the event this year, who thanked us for the opportunity we gave her to draw strength through the sounds of our drums.
