Elementary School teachers attend training at the Boston Museum of Science

May 16, 2024

From May 5 to 12, 2024, the Director of Athens College Elementary School, Mr. G. Kalogeras, the Director of Psychico College Elementary School Ms. D. Panagouli and Deputy Director Ms. M. Thermogianni together with fifteen teachers from both Elementary schools visited Boston and attended training seminars at the Boston Museum of Science on issues of Educational Engineering. The program included extensive theoretical training and hands-on engineering applications for elementary school children.

In addition, our teachers visited two elementary schools in Massachusetts (St. Agatha Parish Elementary School - St. Augustine School) and toured their facilities. There they observed the teaching and implementation of an engineering program to elementary school students and exchanged views with colleagues and directors of the school units.

Finally, our teachers met with members of the Athens College Board of Trustees in Boston. Chairman Mr. G. Antoniadis and members Mr. Nehamas, D. Gontikas and M. Hatsopoulos had a fruitful dialogue with our teachers about the future and prospects of the School.

Within the framework of this trip, our teachers had the opportunity to interact with members of the international educational community and gain valuable pedagogical experience that will help them carry out their work more effectively. Costs were entirely covered by the Endowment of the Board of Trustees.
