Psychico College Elementary School 2 "How the world works" - The Neighborhood

Feb 3, 2025
In the context of the Transdisciplinary Theme "How the world works", our School gladly welcomed Mr. Georgios Agiostratitis, civil engineer and father of one of our Elementary School 2 students, on Wednesday, January 15.

Mr. Agiostratitis gave an understandable presentation on the history and importance of house construction. Through his presentation, students learned how and why humans began to build houses, by examining the evolution of their needs and the role of community in creating neighborhoods.

On Wednesday, January 22, in the context of the same Transdisciplinary Theme, Elementary School 2 students had the opportunity to watch an interesting presentation by Ms. Georgopoulou, grandmother of one of our School's students.

Ms. Georgopoulou made an enthusiastic presentation, containing a historical review on the creation and building of settlements, giving the students the opportunity to understand how neighborhoods evolved through time. Through images, storytelling and discussions, students learned about architecture, human needs and the changes that shaped neighborhoods as we know them today.

We deeply thank both our speakers, Mr. Agiostratitis and Ms. Georgopoulou, for their contribution to our students' learning experience!

It was a valuable experience, directly linked to the theme of "neighborhood" we are working on right now, that also enhanced students' experiential learning!
