It is with great joy and pride that we announce the distinction of Athens College Elementary School in the Bravo Schools 2024 competition for the innovative program “Our Neighborhood”, designed by teachers Ioanna Adami, Maria Dimitriou and Katerina Stefanakou, and implemented last year with Elementary School Grade 2 students by teachers Ioanna Adami, Eleana Karava, Maria Karangelou, Katerina Karatziou, Makis Leyteratos, Georgia Mega, in collaboration with visual artists Eleni Grafakou, Myrto Kafkoula, Omiros Kosmidis and Maria Tapini. The program stood out as one of the best educational approaches for Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and was awarded as one of the three best programs of all 17 Goals among 310 schools and 470 school proposals!

29,100 students and more than 36,000 active citizens participated in the Bravo Schools competition, which was organized for the seventh consecutive year. The goal of the institution is to promote education and awareness on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting the most innovative actions of the school community each year.

The award was accompanied by a prize, an interactive whiteboard, that our School chose to offer to the FLOGA Association, supporting children with neoplastic diseases. With this decision, we highlight not only our commitment towards sustainable education, but also the deeply humanitarian and charitable nature of our School community.
