Athens College Elementary School – English Department: "We Are All One!"
On Tuesday, April 8, Elementary School Grade 5 students of English classes, taught by Ms. Apostoli and Ms. Drimili, presented the performance "We Are All One!" with great emotion and enthusiasm, as part of the PYP research unit Who We Are.
The performance was inspired by iconic figures of the U.S. civil rights movement, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and young Ruby Bridges. Through theater, storytelling, imagery, and movement, the students highlighted powerful values such as respect, equality, justice, and the strength of peaceful protest.
At the same time, an exhibition of the children's artwork was displayed at the school entrance. The students, inspired by the figures and messages they explored, expressed their thoughts and feelings on the struggle for human rights and the importance of acceptance and unity.
The event concluded with the resounding message: "We are all one!" - a reminder that acceptance and empathy are the foundations of a just and peaceful society.
Warm congratulations to all the students for their passionate participation, and to the teachers for their inspiring guidance and support!
