Jan 23, 2024

On Friday, January 19, the Young Entrepreneurship Club of the Psychico College High School held an event at the IC Hall.

The event was opened by the teachers-consultants of the Club, Athanasios Karamitsas, Eleni Markopoulou, and Panagiotis Statiris, who spoke briefly about the history of the Club and the successes of our School's teams in national and international competitions. Mr. George Igoumenakis, a volunteer consultant of Junior Achievement Greece and supporter of our Club, also spoke about the success of our School.

This was followed by speeches of Psychico College and IB DP graduates, Nikolaos Gkoliopoulos '14, Athina Lorentziadi '20, Charikleia Moraitaki '22 and Amalia Toutziaridi '23, who shared with the students their experience from their participation in the Club and how they used it in their further studies.

Lastly, students of Grade 11 and this year’s Young Entrepreneurship Club, Giorgos Parthenis, Iasonas Kournavos and Ermis Kousis-Lamprou, presented their project CRASHLINK, which will compete this year in the Junior Achievement Greece competition.

The Young Entrepreneurship Club has been participating for the last 17 years in the "Virtual Business" and "Social Innovation-SIR" Programs of Junior Achievement Greece's Youth Entrepreneurship Association. Each year, students of the Club establish a "Virtual Business", which seeks, in collaboration with business executives and teachers, to introduce students to the way in which a business operates through the effort of creating innovative products, which they design, produce, promote, and sell themselves.

Among many awards that it has received, in 2019 the Club won the "AT&T Excellence in IT Award" for the virtual company Saveat and Psychico College the "Entrepreneurial School Award" by Junior Achievement Europe.
