Psychico College High School Howland Speech Competition

Feb 23, 2024

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, the final round of the "Howland" Oratory Competition for students of Psychico College’s High School 3 and the 2nd year of the IB DP took place at the College Theater.

The winner of the "Howland" Prize for school year 2023-2024 was student Bozona Maria.

The theme of this year’s competition was:

The four elements of the School’s coat of arms symbolize the origin of the Greeks from the Creto-Mycenaean era (axe), through classical antiquity (glaive) and the Byzantine period (cross), to the modern renaissance Greece (phoenix). From another perspective, these same elements project the fourfold mission of the College: the physical development, the spiritual and mental cultivation and the patriotic education of the students. Thus, the coat of arms encloses within itself both the past and the future.

Do you feel that the values depicted in the shield of our School's coat of arms provide adequate shielding for young people to meet the challenges of modern times?
