From April 22 to 26, 2024, a delegation of 55 students of the Psychico College High School "Monuments of European Culture and Art Conservation" club visited Copenhagen, a city rich in history and culture. The delegation was accompanied by the two responsible teachers of the Club, Mr. N. Tzanakakis and Mr. Zikos, Ms. A. Anagnostou, Deputy Director of Psychico College High School, Ms. A. Yialeli and Mr. A. Spiroglou.

The first stop on our program was the impressive Church of the Savior, with its elaborately decorated interior and its famous inner spire. We then visited "Christiania", the longest-running self-managed community. We also visited Kastellet Park, home to the statue of the Little Mermaid, which is the city's most famous landmark, as well as Christiansborg Palace, the Round Tower and the Old Town Hall Square.

We also had the opportunity to visit the impressive Frederiksborg Castle and admired the palace's unique architecture and decoration. Afterwards, we were particularly moved by our visit to the Orthodox church of St. George of Ioannina in the Roskilde area, as well as to the Greek school, in an effort to connect with the Greek expatriate community in the city.

We even travelled to Sweden and toured the special Open Air Museum of Fredriksdal in Helsinborg, and then we went to the wonderful city of Malmö, where we saw the Turning Torso tower. Our return to Denmark via the Oresund Bridge was followed by a unique experience - a visit to the gardens of Tivoli, Copenhagen's most popular amusement park.

Our last day in Denmark began with an idyllic cruise through the city's many canals, starting from Nyhavn harbor, which gave us the opportunity to experience a plethora of beautiful traditional and colorful neighborhoods. We then moved on to the Danish National Opera and the Glyptotheque, where we were able to observe great exhibits of great cultural value, while a visit to Amalienborg Castle and the Marble Church brought our tour to a happy end.

The educational visit to Denmark was an unforgettable experience, which "filled" us with a wealth of emotions, knowledge, and valuable experiences.
