ΙΒ DP Visit from Viborg Katedralskole

ΙΒ DP Visit from Viborg Katedralskole

Sep 25, 2024

On September 25, the IB Diploma Programme welcomed 32 students and three teachers from the IB DP of the Danish school Viborg Katedralskole (VK). The school, which is Denmark's oldest upper secondary school, has a 900-year history and boasts several notable alumni.

For the third consecutive year, our schools' collaboration is a testament to our commitment to enriching intercultural understanding through meaningful exchanges.

Students from both schools worked in mixed teams on their Collaborative Sciences Project (CSP), a compulsory project for all IB DP students that focuses on a real-world issue through the lens of the scientific method. For the class of 2025, the common CSP theme was “Water resources and management,” a global issue of great importance for Greece and Denmark.

During the day, visiting students and teachers were first toured around the HAEF Psychico campus by Year 2 IB DP Ambassadors Club students. Then, students of 12 mixed groups from both schools presented their CSP findings. Following the conclusion of the CSP teamwork (which started in March 2024 with multiple virtual sessions), visiting students and teachers were welcomed in Choremi by the Year 2 cohort, where students discussed their academic programs and daily school life—the day concluded with students from VK being hosted in HAEF Year 2 IB DP classes.

The visit from Viborg Katedralskole was not just a cultural exchange but a valuable educational experience. It allowed our students to form ties with an acclaimed ΙΒ World School abroad and gain insight into other IB Diploma Programmes' educational values and practices.
