International Children’s Book Day, aimed at promoting reading appreciation, is celebrated on April 2nd, the birthday of renowned storyteller Hans Christian Andersen.  Our Kindergarten Library took part in this year’s celebrations, adapting its activities to the unique conditions perpetuated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the online Library classes that took place the week of 3/29 -4/2, twelve different activities – surprises were carried out whose goal was to enhance children’s love of and engagement with books.

Each day there was a different little surprise for each pre-k and kindergarten section where students could play, think and hang out with a book.  Students were informed of the day’s surprise via a message to MS Teams just before the start of the class.

In this great celebration of fairytales, everyone was invited to play and discover the magical worlds hidden within the pages of books, which is why parents didn’t miss out on the opportunity to join us in these digital meetings!
