The Architecture of Libraries

The “Architecture of Libraries” exhibit at the Benaki Museum is organized into five distinct periods that correspond to the evolution of library architecture as it was influenced by the intellectual and cultural criteria of each of those historical periods: Greek world, Roman era, Byzantine Empire, Western Europe during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Mr. Konstantinos Sp. Staikos, curator of the exhibition which recently opened at the Benaki Museum, speaks to LIFO.gr about the influences that shaped the architecture of libraries in Western Civilizations.
