10 years of the Fulbright Fellowship Program at Athens College
This year marks 10 years of the Fulbright Fellowship Program at Athens College.
Our Fulbrighters for academic year 2023-2024, Emma, Abigail, Sarah, Acacia, Theodora, Anna, Allison, Melissa, Anagha, Katie, Theodore, and Anika will be located in all school units, assisting and mentoring our students during English classes, at the Library, and in other English-language programs (e.g. Forensics, student publications) and SAT classes.
Each year, Athens College hosts 12-13 Fellows, who have recently completed their studies in the United States and have come to our School as part of the Fulbright Foundation educational exchange program. They take on the role of young ambassadors to strengthen our School's relationship with the United States. They share their enthusiasm, knowledge, ideas, and elements of their language and culture with our School community, providing a cross-cultural experience. In every respect, they are role models to our students.
Athens College successfully introduced and established the "Teaching Fellows" program in 1962. In 2013, a partnership with the Fulbright Greece Foundation was initiated and this program was renamed "Fulbright Fellows". Since then, the College's program has expanded and become highly competitive, attracting hundreds of applications each year.
On Thursday, October 5, 2023, our Fulbright Fellows attended an event organized by Fulbright Greece at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens to welcome the Foundation's Fellows for the new year.
