Participation of Psychico College Junior High School students in WFUNA Workshop
Between March 10 -15, members of the Psychico College Junior High School 'Training at the United Nations' Club ventured on an enriching expedition to the United Nations offices in Geneva. Equipped with knowledge gained from workshops conducted throughout the academic year at School, our students engaged in insightful dialogues with United Nations officers. They had the privilege of meeting representatives from prominent organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as well as the First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations.
In addition to these enlightening sessions, members of the Club explored the cultural heritage of Geneva. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, they delved into the historic charm of the Old Town, immersing themselves in the city's fascinating past.
Furthermore, our students visited the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, where they were greeted by the spirit of athleticism and global unity.
These excursions complemented the academic aspects of the trip, offering our students a holistic understanding of both the historical and contemporary significance of the region.
The pinnacle of their experience involved tackling real-life scenarios pertaining to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This hands-on approach provided our students with invaluable insights into addressing global challenges. The visit not only broadened their understanding of global issues but also empowered them with the skills to make a positive impact in our interconnected world. We commend our students for their dedication and look forward to witnessing the positive ripple effects of their experience.
