On Monday, June 6, 2024, Athens College Grade 5 students of Mr.Wlodarczyk and Ms.Kiapekaki carried out an activity in the forest of our School entitled "L'Olympiade de la classe".

On the occasion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in the summer of 2024, the students learned about the Paralympic Games and admired the mental strength of the athletes participating in them.

Action Plan:

-Balls were placed in different parts of the grounds.

-The pupils formed two groups (each group was divided into pairs).

-In each pair, one of the two pupils wore a mask so that they could not see. He/she had to follow their classmate's instructions to pick up the balls.

-The student "guide" had to give the instructions in French (en avant/en arrière/à droite/à gauche...)

-The aim of the game was for one of the two teams to manage to collect most of the balls.

This experiential activity raised the awareness of students who put themselves in the shoes of the visually impaired athletes and experienced their own sports world.
