Elementary Schools Celebrate Olympic Day
The celebration of Olympic Day took place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Psychico College Theater. Ms. Dimitra Korokida, Paralympic silver medalist in the Women’s Shot Put event, Mr. Sakis Kostaris, Hellenic Paralympic Committee Communications Manager, and Mr. Nikos Syranidis, gold medalist in the 3m Springboard Diving event at the 2004 Olympics, were guests at the event. The keynote speaker was Physical Education teacher Mr. Stelios Kakavogiannis who presented historical background about Olympic Day and who coordinated the question and answer session during which students addressed their queries to the athletes.
On Thursday, April 6, 2017, Olympic Day was celebrated in the Athens College Theater. Guests were Ms. Kelly Loufaki, Rio 2016 Paralympic medalist in the wheelchair fencing event and Mr. Pavlos Mamalos, weightlifting athlete. Physical Education teacher Mr. Panagiotis Skylodimos who coordinated the event presented historical background with regard to the celebration and coordinated the question and answer session between our students and guests.
Coordinator of both events was Mr. Solon Saniotis, InterSchool Coordinator of Physical Education for the Elementary Schools.
