Special Olympics 14th European Basketball Week 2017
Within the context of the Special Olympics 14th European Basketball Week, Special Olympics Hellas organized Unified 3x3 and Double 5x5 mixed team basketball matches comprised of Special Olympics players, Panathinaikos Basketball Academy athletes and Athens College-Psychico College 8th & 9th grade Varsity Team members. The matches were held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Aggelikouseio Indoor Gymnasium and Chandreio Athletic Center. The training program, entitled “Play Unified” – We Live Together – We Play Together, is approved by the Ministry of Education.
The event was attended by: Ms. Artemis Vasilikopoulou, Director of Special Olympics Hellas; Mr. Richard Jackson, President of Athens College – Psychico College; Mr. Dimitris Kolyvas, Director of Athens College Junior High School; Mr. Leonidas Kaisaris, Deputy Director of Psychico College Junior High School; Mr. Themis Karvountzis, General Manager of Panathinaikos B.C. Superfoods; Mr. Fragkiskos Alvertis, Manager of Panathinaikos B.C. Academy; as well as Messrs. Chris Singleton, Nikos Pappas, Marcus Denmon, Ian Vougioukas (Amabassador One Team Turkish Airlines Euroleague) and Loukas Lekavitsious, PAO international players.
Athens College – Psychico College Junior High School 8th and 9th grade students watched the matches.
