Ensuing the retirement of teachers Foteini Soultanaki, Dimitra Trampa-Mpenetou and Athina Vergou, a farewell event was held in recognition of their long service to the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation’s Department of Physical Education and Sports.  The event took place on Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Trophy Room of the Aggelikouseio Indoor Gymnasium and Chandreio Athletic Center.

President of the HAEF Board of Directors, Nikolaos Tsavliris, College President, Richard L. Jackson, members of the Administration, School Directors, Heads of Department, members of the Physical Education and Sports Department’s faculty and staff, President of the Athletic Advisory Committee, Nikolaos Machairas, and others were in attendance.

Mr. N. Tsavliris, President of the BoD, presented commemorative plaques to the three teachers being honored.  In accordance with a tradition established by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, portraits of the three colleagues were hung in the Trophy Room

It is noteworthy that:

Foteini Soultanaki was a Physical Education teacher in both Athens College High School and Junior High from 1982 to 2013.

Dimitra Trampa-Mpenetou was a Physical Education teacher in Athens College Elementary School and Junior High School from 1977 to 2013, specializing in Greek Folk Dances.

Athina Vergou was a Physical Education teacher in Athens College Elementary School and High School from 1977 to 2015.
