Third Concert – Dedicated to Beethoven

The third concert dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven was successfully held on Saturday, February 1st in Choremi Auditorium.  Our School’s piano teacher, Sotiris Dimitriadis, together with Athens State Orchestra cellist, Asterios Pouftis, accompanied on piano by Thalia Athanitis, interpreted two works of the great composer.

Head of the Music Department, Stefanos Tsokakis, gave the welcoming address, while College Music teacher, Michalis Empeoglou ’83, who was particularly touched by the presence in the audience of his own Music teacher at the College – that of Mr. Markos Dragoumis - gave the musicological analysis.

The Festival celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven will conclude with the fourth concert on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 19:00, in Choremi Auditorium. At that time, Beethoven's pieces will be interpreted byFaidonas Miliadis, Thodoris Iosifidis, Athens College High School student Andreas Tsolmektsoglou, alumnus Alexis Karaiskakis-Nastos ΄05, as well as College and Conservatory teachers, Dimitris Mousouras, Vaggelis Loutas, Giannis Romanos, Elena Lazaretou and Eufrosyni Glytsou.
