“Sea Bream” Section Investigates Green Architecture
As part of the Interdisciplinary Unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” students in the “Sea Bream” section spoke via Microsoft Teams with a classmate’s
parent who is an architect. Practicing
their thinking and communication skills,
they wanted to learn why some buildings have gardens as rooftops instead of
other traditional materials, such as clay tiles or shingles or slate. Using
appropriate audio-visual materials, the mother-architect spoke about green
architecture and about sustainable, bioclimatic buildings and cities. At the
end, she answered all the questions posed by the students about building
design, satisfying their curiosity.
We thank her!
