“Swordfish” Section Explores Museums around the World
As part of the Interdisciplinary Unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” students in the “Swordfish” section spoke via Microsoft Teams with a classmate’s
parent who is a museologist. Practicing
their thinking, research, and
communication skills, they wanted to learn about the interior and exterior
spaces of museums. The parent, using
appropriate visual material, answered the students’ queries about museums and
shed light on museum architecture and design, as well as the different
exhibitions therein. We thank her!
Following her introduction to museums, our students used technology to “travel” digitally by plane, bus and other means of transportation to reach famous sites such as the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, The Bolshoi Theatre, The Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, National Theater of Korea, NASA, the Museum of Cycladic Arts, and more. Again, students had an opportunity to practice their social and self-management skills, and to display their collaborative inclination.
