“Clam” Section Investigates Paper Recycling
As
part of their inquiry into the Interdisciplinary Unit “How We Organize Ourselves,” students in the “Clam” section spoke via Microsoft
Teams with a parent whose profession is related to paper-recycling. Among
other things, the parent also spoke about his role in the community. In the
process, students became inquirers and
wanted to learn about sorting paper for recycling, the recycling process and
the benefits of paper recycling for our planet.
The parent then used appropriate visual material to answer students’
questions about recycling and the products that result from it. Lastly, he demonstrated the process practiced
at paper-recycling centers by conducting a simple experiment.
