As established by UNESCO, May 16 is the International Day of Light. The Charalampos Vellis Library celebrated this special day with kindergarten students at J.M. Carras Kindergarten by inviting the author Mrs. Penny Chatziefstratiou Michelinaki on Microsoft Teams in view of the presentation of her book The Light in My Life. Mrs. Michelinaki narrated the story and played games related to light and shadow with the students as well as the characters of the story. All kindergarten students also participated in an art contest entitled “The Light in My Life”. A committee will select the winner who will receive an English copy of Mrs. Michelinaki’s book entitled Lucian’s First Dream. A Journey to Light. A digital exhibition will follow.
