Within the framework of the Library’s Reading Appreciation program, 3rd grade students worked on the book, “Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity,” published by Melissa.

Students had an opportunity to meet with designer of educational programs, Anna-Maria Vlassi, in our school’s outdoor spaces where they joined her on introductory journey into world of Yayoi Kusama, titled “Red, Green and Blue Polka Dots.”

Ms. Vlassi notes: "Following in the footsteps of Yayoi Kusama, one of the most popular op-art artists, we spread balls across our outdoor space, creating our own “installation.” We played with mirror reflections to better grasp her famous MIRROR / INFINITY rooms and, mainly, observed how a girl managed to make her dream come true despite adversity.”
