Kindergarten students in J.M.Carras took part in the educational program titled “The Way to Freedom”, organized by ANIMA -the Association for the protection and care of wildlife- in the Aesthetic Forest of Ymittos. Students strolled around the forest and discovered which animals and plants are native to the area. They were informed about the importance of protecting nature and various ways to take care of animals such as making bird-feeders for chicks. Students then came into close contact with hedgehogs, turtles and other species which were set free by Anima staff. The specific species of animals were catered to in the ANIMA First Aid Center after the forest fires that affected their natural habitat last summer and they received medical care from ANIMA staff.
