Year 1 IB DP students of the Environmental Systems & Societies course visited the Filothei Creek during the week of November 1 - 5, 2021 where they had the opportunity to collect data and investigate various abiotic factors such as the flow rate at three different points of the creek, the temperature of the water, and the pH. Students measured the concentration of the oxygen dissolved in the water and collected samples for analysis in the School laboratory where they will measure the biologically required oxygen.  Students will repeat the visit to the creek in January and in May so as to observe seasonal changes.
