Celebrating Thanksgiving at the IB DP
IB DP students celebrated Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 25 by exchanging heartfelt wishes with their peers and teachers. Under the guidance of Ms. C. Georgakopoulou, Year 1 students decorated “post” boxes and cards and for a week strategically placed them on each of the three floors of the IB DP Building so that all IB DP students could drop a note to their peers, teachers, and staff members, expressing their gratitude and thanks. Messages were then collected, sorted, and placed into individual envelopes along with a chocolate, and delivered to all recipients on Thanksgiving Day.
On the same day, students also watched a video in which the Fulbright Fellows shared memories of previous Thanksgiving Day celebrations and talked about the essence of the celebration and what it meant to them, as well as a brief presentation of the historical events related to the holiday and a humorous sketch.
