Athens College High School Students Qualify for the STEM STARS GREECE Competition Finals
Athens College High School Grade 2 students C. Georgakopoulou, C. Vamvaka, and L. Vournas qualified to the Grand Final of the STEM STARS GREECE student competition, with their group project titled “Explore Athens”. Computer Science teacher Mr. A. Karambelas oversaw their project.
The STEM STARS GREECE competition is organized in order to support, showcase and reward students aged 14-18, with an aptitude for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics [STEM]. It also provides an opportunity for participants to delve deeper into a STEM subject that interests them, while also developing their research skills, team work, presentation skills to present their findings to a wide audience, and to connect with people who have similar research interests, scientists and STEM professionals. They also have the opportunity to win important awards, or even represent Greece in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) https://www.societyforscience.org/isef/.
The final evaluation by the judges, who are distinguished scientists, will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Technopolis of the City of Athens. The event will be held in person, with the option for teams who are unable to attend to participate online.
Congratulations to our students and best of luck in the final assessment!
