The Online Awards Ceremony took place with great success for the students and teachers of the Environmental and Gardening Club of Athens College Elementary School, who have been participating in recent years (2017-2021) in the “Learning about the Forests” network. The event was organized on Saturday, February 19, 2022 by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, who are responsible in Greece for the International Network of Environmental Education “Learning about the Forests”, and the 2nd Directorate of Primary Education of Athens, who coordinate the network. Teachers M. Giannakopoulou and G. Tzouvistas received awards for the implementation of the program, and especially for the creation of an environmental footpath in our school’s forest. They had presented this initiative earlier in the year to educators who belong to this network, as part of sharing best practices in the Skills Workshops.

Our sincere congratulations to M. Giannakopoulou and G. Tzouvistas for their active interest in matters of environmental awareness.
