As part of the inquiry into the transdisciplinary unit, Sharing the Planet, with the central idea ‘Living Organisms grow and change’, students from pre-kindergarten classes were visited by the volunteer group Healthy Seas. Students had the opportunity to learn about products that are made out of lost fishing nets. The Healthy Seas group also showed them a diver’s gear and spoke to them about how they have released sea animals that had been caught in abandoned nets. 
Students practiced self-management, communication and research skills.
