Online lecture by Athens College President on Natural Hazards to students of the Karavana School in Larissa
On Tuesday, March 8 2022, Athens College President Professor Costas Synolakis ’75 gave an online lecture to Grade 5 students of the Karavana School in Larissa and answered all of their questions regarding Natural Hazards and how to deal with them.
This lecture was given within the framework of the Skills Workshop of the school run by Mr. Alexandros Anastasiou. For academic year 2021-2022, he and Ms. Evangellia Akrivousi, are teaching the subject of Natural Disasters.
This lecture focused on earthquakes, mainly because students were shaken up by the strong earthquake that hit the area the previous year. In the discussion that followed, the issues of fires and floods were also addressed, as well as ways of dealing with natural disasters in general.
