The 46th Internal Swimming Competition “GAVRIILIA”, in memory of John A. Gabriel, for students from the Junior High and High Schools of Athens College and Psychico College, took place on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Alexandra Prokopiou” Swimming Center and “John Α.  Gabriel” Swimming Pool.  The start of the races was announced by Athens College President Professor Costas Synolakis '75.

Based on the international scores, Angeliki Smyrniou from High School 1 was declared best female athlete of the competition, for her 28’’58 time in 50m Butterfly. Nikolaos Soutos, also from High School 1, was declared best male athlete, with 24”60 in 50m Freestyle.

New best times for Gavriilia were recorded in the following races:

• 50m Breaststroke, Maria Kefalogianni, High School 3, 35’’77
• 50m Breaststroke, Alexandra Doxiadi, Junior High 1, 34’’83
• 50m Butterfly, Angeliki Smyrniou, High School 1, 28’’58, which is the new best time for the College
• 50m Freestyle, Natalia-Zoi Tzanetou, IB1, 27’’58
• 50m Backstroke, Natalia Strongyli, High School 2, 30”39 which is the new best time for the College
• 50m Backstroke, Ilia Vlachaki, Junior High 3, 31”44
• 100m Freestyle, Eleni Archontidi, Junior High 3, 1’01”41
• 4x50m Freestyle, High School 1 students Nikolaos Soutos, Christos Hatzigakis, Antonios Dimitriadis, Konstantinos Brouchoutas, 1’42”30 which is the new best time for the College
• 4x50 Freestyle, High School 2 students Natalia Strongyli, Laura Kammenou,  Natalia Zoi Tzanetou, Eymorfia Chatzigeorgiou, 1’55”40 which is the new best time for the College
• 4x50m Freestyle, Junior High 3 students Leoni Pistioli, Ilia Vlachaki, Eirini Maria Nikolaou, Eleni Archontidi, 1’57”01
  

Grade 1 of High School ranked in 1st place in the Overall Rankings, with 80 points.

An official timing took place after the end of the Gavriilia, with a College new best time:

• 100m Individual Relay, Natalia Strongyli, High School 2, 1’05”19
