Guest Speaker of the Month- Google Maps Co-founder
As part of the inquiry into the transdisciplinary unit, Where We Are in Place and Time, with the central idea ‘Spaces can be used in creative ways’, students from the Dolphin, Snapper and Sea bream kindergarten classes were visited by Google Maps co-founder and computer scientist, Mr. Lars Rasmussen. Mr. Rasmussen talked about maps and how they have evolved over time into their current digital form. Students had the opportunity to choose favorite destinations and “travelled” using Google Maps. Students also wanted to “travel” all the way to Ukraine and send their own message of love and peace while singing “Imagine” by John Lennon.
Students practiced self-management and communication skills.
We warmly thank him!
