Psychico College Junior High School students decided to enrich the flower garden behind “Vasilia” building, with herbs, in an activity tied to Service As Action. In advance, they had discussed the benefits of gardening, which further cultivates teamwork and communication skills, as well as a feeling of personal happiness and pride. While gardening, the students also improved the fence around that area, and each student planted a herb of their choice that they will now take care of for the rest of the year. Students dug up the soil and planted their herbs, which they then fertilized and watered. They also placed stones around each plant and they were informed about how to best look after them.
