Student and alumni discussions: Virtual meetings with Elli Andriopoulou ’93 and Tereza Farmaki ‘96
The Athens College Direction of Social Welfare and Diversity in collaboration with the Communications Department organize a series of meetings between students and alumni, in small groups, so as to achieve more interaction among participants.
Within the framework of the “Student and alumni discussions”, there have been six virtual meetings between female High School students with Ms. Elli Andriopoulou ’93, President and Managing Director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and twelve virtual meetings between female students with Ms. Tereza Farmaki ’96, Founding Member and Managing Director of Astarte Capital Partners.
Mmes Andriopoulou and Farmaki spoke to students honestly and realistically and shared with them their experiences and also decisions they had to make during the course of their life. What they pointed out, each from their own perspective, is that people come across many obstacles and difficulties in life, but they manage to overcome them and succeed.
About Elli Andriopoulou
Elli Andriopoulou graduated from Athens College in 1993. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Deree, The American College of Greece and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in the US.
Since 2000, she has worked as a business consultant in matters of strategy, growth and marketing as well as in banking, assuming several executive positions.
Since 2012, she has held several executive positions at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) and in June 2020 was appointed Chairwoman and Managing Director of the SNFCC.
In 2021, she was elected member of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation.
About Tereza Farmaki
Tereza Farmaki graduated for Athens College in 1996. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business from the University of Athens and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in New York.
Since 2015, she has been Co-Founder and Managing Director of Astarte Capital Partners. She has more than 20 years of experience in private markets and is among the few women founders of private equity and real asset companies.
On July 1, 2021, she was recognized as one of the "Women of Influence in Private Markets" by Private Equity International.
