2nd Place Award in the Greek National Competition “Best Virtual Business”
The Psychico College High School’s Youth Entrepreneurship Club won the 2nd Place Award for their virtual business Future Farmers and their product Mini Farm in the 17th Greek National Competition “Best Virtual Business 2022”, organized by Junior Achievement Greece. The competition took place on May 13, 2022, in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center’s Dome. More than 100 teams representing schools from all over Greece participated in the Competition.
The virtual business Future Farmers includes 26 students, and was represented by the High School Grade 1 students Lekkou Ioanna, Lyberopoulou Anna, Mazioti Niki, Grade 2 student Zisopoulou Sofia, and IB1 student Toutziaridi Amalia-Christina. The product their company created is called Mini Farm and it’s a “smart”, modern, easy to use and accessible hydroponics kit made from recyclable materials. It helps us to get to know the growth process of plants and herbs, using ancient Greek seeds, and as few resources as possible, giving the environment a “breath” of air.
Mini Farm’s aim is to facilitate the relationship between humans and nature, and to raise public awareness about the need to sustain seeds as part of our cultural heritage. Mini Farm’s method can contribute to addressing environmental problems, including the excessive use of pesticides and water, especially during extended drought periods.
It should be noted that our students’ virtual business Future Farmers has already won awards at the International Entrepreneurship Competition for High School Students “Diamond Challenge Summit 2022”, which was organized under the auspices of the University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship.
Congratulations to our students for their success and to the Club’s teacher advisors Mr. Thanos Karamitsas, Ms. Eleni Markopoulou, and Mr. Panagiotis Statiris.
