Conference on Asia Minor Greeks at Athens College

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, a conference was held in the Main Library of Athens College on:
Asia Minor Greeks: facets of the contribution to the development of Greek society
The conference was organized by Athens College in partnership with the Centre for Asia Minor Studies. This event is part of a series of commemoration events planned for the commemoration of the 100-year anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe and the arrival of the Greek refugees from Asia Minor.
The following speakers presented various aspects of the contributions of the refugees from Asia Minor in the reconstruction and reform of the modern Greek society and state:

- Dimitris Kamouzis, Historian, researcher, Centre for Asia Minor Studies
- Elisavet Kontogiorgi, Research Director, Modern Greek History Research Centre, Academy of Athens
- Spyros Michaleas, Research Fellow at the History of Medicine and Medical Ethics Center, Medical School, University of Athens
- Leonidas Moiras, Historian, lecture of Ottoman History, History and Archeology Department, University of Athens
- Andreas Baltas, Educator, lecturer of Social and Cultural History of Athleticism and Sports, Greek Open University
- Panagiotis Poulos, Assistant Professor, Music Studies Department, School of Philosophy, University of Athens
- Chrisothemis Stamatopoulou-Vasilakou, Professor Emeritus, Theater Studies Department, University of Athens
