Athens College High School announced as “European Parliament Ambassador School”

During the 2021-2022 school year, the Athens College High School participated for the first time in the “European Parliament Ambassador Schools” program. This initiative was inspired and led by Mr. Christos I. Konstantopoulos, Athens College Co-Director and Director of the Athens College High School. Multiple events and initiatives took place as part of this program, with the guidance and supervision of the Teacher Advisors, Mr. G.H. Karambatis, Mr. N. Palantzas and Mr. C. Symeonides.

The pinnacle of the School’s initiatives for this program was the celebration organized to commemorate “Europe Day” on May 9, 2022. Athens College’s guest of honor, Ms. Konstantina E. Botsiou, Professor of Modern History and International Politics at the University of Piraeus and with a Ph. D. in modern history from the University of Tübingen, gave a lively and informative account of the importance of the EU, the values it is based on, the aims it serves, and the challenges it is called to face.

On Monday, December 19, 2022 the Athens College High School was awarded the title of “European Parliament Ambassador School” in a special event which took place in the events hall of the European Parliament’s Liaison Offices in Greece.  The following Athens College High School students received honorary ambassador diplomas in recognition of their contributions to the events of the previous year:

-Dapsi Angeliki, Koukas Achilleas,Sapountzaki Angeliki from High School 2

-Anagnostopoulou Doris Andriana, Efstathiou Theodoros, Rokka Maria Karolina, Stathopoulou Anna, Tsomokos Aris Panagiotis from High School 3

-Giannoutalou Anastasia, Kefalogianni Maria, Kousiounelou Eleni, Kylika Niki, Pappa Ioanna Eftychia, who graduated in 2022.
