After two years of absence due to the pandemic, the annual “Honoring the Teacher” event took place at the Athens College Elementary School Theater in Kantza, on Friday, January 27, 2023, in honor of Hellenic-American Educational Foundation staff who retired in the years 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Athens College Elementary School Director Mr. Yiannis Kalogeras opened the event and presented the musical part of the evening featuring folk dances, songs, and music from Asia Minor. Athens College President Costas Synolakis ’75 gave an opening address and introduced the guest speaker of the evening Academician Professor Paschalis Kitromilides. 

President Synolakis bestowed certificates to HAEF educators who attended the Pedagogical Training Program these past years. Then, together with Athens College Co-Director and Director of Athens College High School Mr. Christos Konstantopoulos and Psychico College Coordinator and Director of Psychico College High School Mr. Panagiotis Giannoulatos they offered commemorative gifts to the members of staff who retired.
