Athens College collects humanitarian aid for the citizens of Thessaly
Athens College stands by the people of Thessaly and participates in the collection of humanitarian aid for our fellow citizens, who were struck by devastating floods after the extreme weather conditions of the past days.
All Hellenic-American Educational Foundation school units, the Elementary, Junior High and High School Student Councils, the “J.M. Carras” Kindergarten, all the School staff, the Parents’ Associations, the Fund Drive Committees , and the Athens College - Psychico College Alumni Association will participate in this effort and contribute for the relief of those in need by collecting items indicated by the Attica Prefecture.
This action is coordinated by the Direction of Social Welfare and Diversity in collaboration with the Student Councils and is the first step towards responding to the urgent needs of our fellow citizens. Similar actions, initiated by the Student Councils, will follow.
The timeframe is very tight and all the humanitarian aid must be collected by Friday, September 15, 2023.
The items will be collected as follows:
- Students will bring the collected items in the areas indicated by the School Direction.
- Parents, staff, alumni and volunteers at the School gates in Psychico and Kantza
The full list of humanitarian aid supplies is:
- Bottled water
- Juices (Long shelf-life)
- Tents
- Dry food (toast, snacks, biscuits) (Long shelf-life)
- Detergents for general use
- Personal hygiene products (soaps, shower gels, cream soaps, toothpastes, toothbrushes)
- Baby milk, baby food (Long shelf-life)
- Diapers
The humanitarian aid will be delivered to a point indicated by the Attica Prefecture.
