On Thursday, February 22, teacher Marianthi Giannakopoulou participated in an online event for the presentation of the new educational material "Reducing my ecological footprint at home and at school" addressed to all teachers and parents/guardians of students of schools participating in the Ecological Schools Network. The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the national operator of the International Thematic Network PE "Eco-Schools" and the Secondary Education Directorate of Athens II, which is the coordinating body of the "Eco-Schools" network, co-organized the online event, created in the framework of the Network, with the kind support of the National Bank of Greece.

The new material includes two guides with activities for the thematic units: Water-Energy-Waste-Consumption-Food-Transport/Mobility-Sea and Coasts, which can be implemented by the teacher in his/her school and activities that the student can implement with his/her parents at home. For parents in particular, the aim of the new material is to introduce them to new tools and activities related to mitigating the climate crisis at home, to observe pleasant and positive ways to talk to their children about pollution, and to familiarize themselves with easy techniques and experiential activities in order to reinforce at home the efforts made at school. The new educational material will be sent in the next few days to all Primary and Secondary schools, as well as to the Parent-Teacher Associations.
