Jun 6, 2024

The exhibition and performances by students who participated in the Art, Tai Chi, and Greek Folk Dance lessons of the Athens College Lifelong Learning Programs were held with great success on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Athens College Theater.

The event was combined with the celebration of 40 years of the Program’s operation. Director of the Lifelong Learning Programs, Ms. Nafsika Athanasouli welcomed all attendees and thanked all those who contributed over the years to the major success of the Program. She especially thanked her predecessor Ms. Haris Economopoulou, who played an important role in shaping the Program, which is now one of the largest adult education programs in Greece.

As Ms. Athanasouli stressed, it is never too late for one to acquire new knowledge, create new interests, and cultivate multifaceted skills and invited the attendees to join the new cycle of the Program in October . She pointed out that since 1984 to date, 4,500 courses have been conducted by 700 teachers and attended by 40,000 students.

In the musical part of the evening, teachers of the Athens College Conservatory performed in the Theater courtyard.

The event concluded with a performance of Samuel Beckett’s "Waiting for Godot" by the Adult Programs Theater Group directed by Thanasis Akkokalidis.

We wish the Adult Programs a very Happy Birthday! We look forward to next year!
