1st Prize in European EWWR Competition for Athens College Junior High School

On June 18 2024, the final round of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) Competition took place, under the auspices of the European Commission, with the participation of 15 finalists per category of actions: public institutions, municipalities, businesses, NGOs, collective alternative management systems, educational institutions, and responsible citizens.
The Athens College Junior High School Student Community participated in the Competition with the "Green Bake Sale", which took place at our School during the week of November 18 - 26 2023, with the support of the English and Music Departments, as well as the Environmental Clubs "Living in the Mediterranean - Land of the Olive" and "World Explorers".
The action was presented in the final round of the Competition held at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Cultures in Marseille by Ms. Irene Siotou and won 1st prize in the category "Educational Institutions".
The theme of the 15th European Campaign was the environmental impact of packaging waste.
